Breastfeeding and Newborn Care Class

Are you expecting or recently welcomed a little one? Join us on the third Monday of each month from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the SMH Outpatient Center’s 2nd Floor Conference Room for our free Breastfeeding and Newborn Care Class! 🍼🤱

Breastfeeding is natural, but it’s not always naturally easy. This class, led by a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) from our Women’s Health Department, provides essential guidance on breastfeeding basics and newborn care to help you feel confident and prepared.

You will learn:

• Breastfeeding expectations and strategies for success
• Latching techniques and nipple/breast care
• Breast pumps, pumping and diet considerations
• Newborn behavior and transition after delivery
• Newborn screenings and elective procedures
• Diaper care and basic car seat safety

Breastfeeding and caring for a newborn take time, practice and support. Our CLC will provide clear, accurate information and answer your questions, so you feel empowered and prepared for this exciting journey.
