Behavioral Health Unit Open House

Sheridan Memorial Hospital invites community members to attend a public open house for The Path Behavioral Health Center on Wednesday, June 24, from 11:30 am to 1 pm. The event will provide an opportunity for residents to tour the facility, meet members of the behavioral health team and learn more about the expanded mental health services that will soon be available to the community.

The Path represents a significant commitment in improving access to behavioral health care across Sheridan County and the surrounding region. Designed to provide a continuum of services in a welcoming, healing environment, the facility will support individuals at various stages of their mental health journey.

In mid-July, Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s outpatient behavioral health clinic will relocate from its current location in the SMH Outpatient Center to the new facility. The outpatient clinic will continue providing psychiatric services while benefiting from additional space and resources designed to support patients and families.

The facility’s crisis stabilization program is expected to open later this summer, providing short-term support for individuals experiencing urgent or emergent mental health needs. Inpatient behavioral health services are anticipated to open later this year, further expanding local access to care and reducing the need for patients to seek treatment outside the community.

“The Path will help address one of the most significant healthcare needs facing our community today,” said Brittany Goodvin, SMH Director of Behavioral Health. “By bringing outpatient, crisis stabilization and inpatient behavioral health services together in one location, we are creating a more comprehensive system of care that supports individuals and families when and where they need it most.”

The June 24 open house will offer tours of the facility, opportunities to meet behavioral health providers and staff, and information about the services that will be available through The Path.

“We know barriers to accessing timely care affects individuals and families from all walks of life,” Goodvin said. “We are grateful for the community support in ensuring our friends, family and neighbors have access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care close to home.”
