Derek Redinger, DO, FACP, a hospitalist and physician at Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s Internal Medicine clinic, recently earned the designation of Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), signifying his commitment to excellence in internal medicine, ongoing professional development and patient-centered care.
The FACP designation is a prestigious, peer-reviewed distinction awarded to internal medicine physicians who demonstrate professional achievement and a commitment to advancing the field. Fellowship candidates are evaluated on their contributions in areas such as continuing medical education, community service, practice improvement, scholarly activities and mentorship. Candidates must also submit a letter of support from a current ACP fellow.
Dr. Redinger’s letter of support highlighted his ability to provide excellent care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as his mentorship of medical students participating in the Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI) medical education program during their rotations through SMH’s Internal Medicine clinic.
The letter also recognized his volunteer work building homes in the Sheridan community and his recent completion of additional training through the Federal Aviation Administration to become an Aviation Medical Examiner.
