Sheridan College Athletes Give Back to Our Community

Share

Yesterday, members of the Sheridan College Basketball program delivered a $1,000 check to the Welch Cancer Center (WCC) for the Patient Comfort Care Program. The funds were raised earlier in the year at a 2017 3 Point Challenge Basketball Game. The Team members were greeted by CEO Mike McCafferty, WCC Manager Lekan Ajayi; Dr. Greg Marino, Nina Beach, FNP-C, and Renea Parker, WCC Office Coordinator. They had a chance to introduce themselves and also took a tour of the facility learning about the various areas of cancer care available in Sheridan.

Having cancer and going through diagnosis and treatment means patients spend a significant amount of time at the WCC. According to WCC Manager Lekan Ajayi, “This generous gift, will go a long way to ensure our patients and their caregivers are comfortable throughout the care process. On behalf of all of us at the WCC, thank you to these young college students and their Coaches for making a difference in the lives of our patients and taking the initiative to get involved.”

The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation accepts gifts and grants and provides funding support for Sheridan Memorial Hospital programs, services, and capital projects through philanthropic events and generous donations.
