Sheridan Memorial Hospital is the first healthcare provider to integrate Cerner's CaareAware Event Management tool with Hospira's infusion system alarm forwarding technology.
This software connects medical devices, such as infusion pumps to clinicians' mobile phones, allowing alerts to reach a clinician directly.
The infusion pump provides fluids and/or medications into the patient's circulatory system. If something goes wrong with the infusion, this technology allows providers to respond more quickly and effeciently.
Charlotte Mather, Chief Nursing Officer at Sheridan Memorial Hospital said, "this technology helps our caregivers stay connected and flag issues to the right person at the right time."
According to Cerner, this means the hospital has expanded its infusion alarm management functionality.
