4-Star rating from the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

Sheridan Memorial Hospital (SMH) recently achieved a 4-Star rating from the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The overall rating shows how well each hospital performed, on average, compared to other hospitals in the U.S. in areas of quality and associated costs. It also includes supporting innovative approaches to improving quality, accessibility, and affordability. The overall rating ranges from one to five stars. The more stars, the better a hospital performed. SMH joins four other hospitals across Wyoming in the 4-star category (Cody Regional Health, Ivinson Memorial, Memorial Hospital of Converse County and Star Valley Medical Center). St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson is home to the state’s only 5-Star CMS rating. The Star Ratings Program is just one of CMS’s initiatives to improve healthcare quality across the US.

100 GREAT COMMUNITY HOSPITALS

Sheridan Memorial Hospital was recently named to Becker’s Healthcare list of 100 Great Community Hospitals for 2018. The list is based on several outside ranking and ratings organizations including, IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals, iVantage Health Analytics and the Chartis Center for Rural Health’s top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals, CareChex ratings, Leapfrog Group grades, Healthgrades awards and CMS stars, among other considerations.

2018 MOST WIRED

In 2018 Sheridan Memorial Hospital was awarded and ranked in the top 7 of the country by the Most Wired designation from Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN). Most Wired® designation stems from a survey and benchmarking study conducted by H&HN, in cooperation with the American Hospital Association and Health Forum. The study is recognized as a leading industry barometer measuring information technology (IT) use and adoption among hospitals nationwide. This year's study results indicate information technology is improving the efficiency of healthcare delivery and creating a new dynamic in patient interactions. Our continued innovation offers to our community better access to one’s own health information, efficiency of services and care one receives, and strong processes can be implemented using the most accurate and precise resources available.
