Hospital Emergency Department Moving to West Side of Hospital April 14, 2005 -- Due to construction, Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be temporarily re-locating to the west side of the hospital at 7 a.m. on Friday, April 15. "Persons who need to come the Emergency Department any time after 7 a.m. on Friday, April 15 need to follow the signs past the hospital and turn north on Kentucky Avenue, which is the street that runs between the main hospital building and the Welch Cancer Center,"according to Cecile Pattison of Community Relations. "We have installed new lighted signage to direct people to the temporary location. When we make the move on Friday morning, all of this signage will be uncovered and lit. We want to encourage people to drop off their emergency patients at the temporary entrance and then park in either the spaces on the west side of the temporary drive in to the Emergency Department or in the additional parking places across the street at the Welch Cancer Center," Pattison added. "There should be no interruption of Emergency Services at the hospital. We are anticipating a smooth move of the department. A transition team of hospital staff members has been working on the logistics of the move for several months. Local emergency providers have been notified of the move and we are prepared for the re-location," Pattison said. |
