Smith Barney donates $3,500 to Diabetes Assistance and HomeCare August 10, 2004 -- The Sheridan County Memorial Hospital Foundation announced today its receipt of two donations totaling $3,500 from the Sheridan branch office of Smith Barney. The funds were donated through Citigroup Foundation as a part of the firm's local contributions program conducted at Smith Barney branches across the country. Ada Kirven, foundation coordinator commented, "We are proud to recognize Citygroup and the local Sheridan Smith Barney Branch for identifying the importance of the Homecare and Diabetes Strip Assistance Programs at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Many individuals in our community depend on hospital sponsored programs for their healthcare information and support. These specific funds will be used to purchase needed homecare equipment, and the second gift will help give Sheridan area diabetics access to the Strip Assistance Program." "We are glad to support organizations that have a meaningful impact in the areas where we live and work," said Marcy Bonnet, vice-president and investment operations manager at the Sheridan Smith Barney branch, who headed the initiative and selection process. Smith Barney's Local Contributions Program was designed to enable the firm's branches to forge partnerships with the communities they serve through a combination of financial contributions and hands-on employee involvement. Those needing further information about Sheridan Memorial Hospital or the above patient programs may call the Hospital Foundation office at 673-2417. |
