Big Horn Mountain Medicine is dedicated to providing Advanced Care with a Hometown Style. We opened in September of 2009, and have continued to grow and offer excellent Internal Medicine care to our patients. We are pleased to offer highly trained, friendly staff to assist you with all of your medical needs.
Our physician staff includes Dr. Ian Hunter and Dr. Cindy Sharp, Board Certified Internists. To complement our excellent physician staff, we have Jason Otto, PA-C. Jason is very knowledgeable and has a specific interest in minor procedures.
As an Internal Medicine practice, we treat patients 16 years of age and older for any of their medical conditions. Internists are trained to diagnose and treat severe, chronic illnesses. They also help patients understand preventive medicines, men's and women's health issues, as well as common problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous system and reproductive organs. Most older adults in the United States see internists as their primary medical practitioners.
We are fortunate that one our Internists, Dr. Cindy Sharp, is also a Board Certified Nephrologist. Nephrology concerns the diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases, including electrolyte disturbances and hypertension. It includes care of those requiring renal replacement therapy, including dialysis and renal transplant patients. Many diseases affecting the kidneys are systemic disorders not limited to the organ itself, and may require special treatment. Examples include acquired conditions such as systemic vasculitides (eg. Wegners disease) and autoimmune diseases (eg lupus), as well as congenital or genetic conditions such as polycystic kidney disease.
